• We are open from 8am-5pm daily, except Sundays.

Can I get a permit to camp at the county parks?

 

• The Department of Parks and Recreation on the island of Maui currently offers permits to county parks for overnight camping. Permits can be obtained in person at any park permit office on a first come, first serve basis. Park permit offices are located throughout the county and can be found here with hours and operations. Campers are required to follow all campground guidelines and rules.

 

What are the best campsites on Maui?

 

• This really depends on what you’re looking for in regard to climate, scenery and accessibility. With the diversity of microclimates on Maui, there’s truly something for everyone. We have a list of the campsites we most recommend here.

 

Can you help me plan my trip?

 

• We are happy to answer any questions you have, and help direct you to the proper channels so you can book your campsites with ease.

 

Do I need to make a reservation at a campsite, or can I just pull over on the side of the road and set up camp?

 

• There is no boon-docking on Maui. If you pull off on the side of the road to camp, you run the risk of getting in trouble with law enforcement. If the main campsites on the island are booked, try looking at Hipcamp and Airbnb. Locals sometimes list their private land for visitors to camp on those platforms.

What if I can’t find anything on Hipcamp or Airbnb?

 

• As an exclusive amenity for our campers, we can connect you with some locals we know upcountry and in Hana to see if they have space on their land for you.

 

Can we get an airport pick up and drop off?

 

• You can request an airport pick up or drop off through our add-ons.

Are pick up and drop off times flexible?

 

• We do our best to accommodate requests for early and/or late pick ups and drop offs. We can confirm a day before your reservation depending on the vehicle’s availability.

 

Will I need a sleeping bag?

 

• It depends on if you plan on camping at some of the higher elevations on Maui. Often times, sleeping bags are too heavy for much of the climate on the island and take up some of the space that could be utilized for your luggage and personal items. We are happy to offer sleeping bags complimentary, upon request (max 2 per vehicle, with more available as add-ons). We recommend packing some clothing to layer as temperatures can drop down to the 60s on some nights.
